Radian electric glider recommended r/c equipment
Quote from Adrian Howley on October 8, 2018, 3:46 pmWho’s the club expert on Spektrum radio stuff? I need some help please – my mate wants to get a basic Radian electric glider as his first plane and he knows even less than I do about the tekky side of r/c! His local model shop Wheelspin Models has in stock an E-Flite Radian XL 2.6m glider which comes I understand with a Spektrum AR636A receiver. What would be a compatible say 6 channel Transmitter for this Rx? When he phoned the shop they told him a DSM2 or DSMX would be suitable but according to their website no such transmitters exist. Any comments or advice?

Quote from Mel Jones on October 8, 2018, 8:59 pmAll Spektrum transmitters use DSMX or DSM2 depending on their age, if a new Spektrum transmitter is brought then it will use DSM2 protocol.
A 6 channel Spektrum DX6E or DX6 will do the job. Look around for best price but Wheelspin Models do sell them.
Personally I would buy a FrSky Taranis X9D along with a receiver and ditch the Spektrum one that comes with the model, much cheaper in the long run.
