ForumDuration Competition - 25/6/23
On 25th June Gordon ran another couple of competitions. First was similar to the one he organised last month. The rules were the same.
Each competitor climbed as high as possible after a 20 second burst of power, timed by Gordon!
The competitor had to stay in the air as long as possible and then land on the landing strip as close as possible to a marker in the centre of the strip. Failure to land anywhere on the landing strip resulted in disqualification!
For those who managed to land on the strip, 5 seconds was deducted from the flying time for each metre between the model and the marker.
The second competition was similar, but the start of the competition was a mass launch by all competitors. (What fun!) The winner was the last plane to land. Gordon described this competition as 'All Up Together'!
Results for both competitions are shown in the attached file. ('D' in the first table refers to a competitor who was disqualified. This usually means that he landed off the landing strip. However, Mel pushed his luck and used his motor to land on the strip thus incurring wrath and disqualification from Gordon!)
ps After Adrian won the first competition flying his Radian, there was a lot of amusement in the ranks when someone realised that 'Radian' was an anagram of 'Adrian'! Simple minds - as they say!
