NB If you 'Copy' and 'Paste' a picture directly in to a posting, it may look OK to you, but it is likely that other users will not be able to see it!

If you wish to add a photo to your posting, please follow these steps:

  1. Create a new posting by using the 'New Topic' button, or reply to a posting by using the 'Reply' button.
  2. Type the text for your posting.
  3. Under the 'Upload Files' heading, select the 'Choose file' button. The window that opens is showing the files on your computer.
  4. Select the picture file you want in your posting. Its name will appear alongside the 'Choose file' button.
  5. You will now see a second 'Choose file' button. Use this if you want to add another picture. You can add up to five picture files in your posting.
  6. Click the 'Submit' button at the bottom of your posting.
  7. Your posting will be published with your pictures shown as 'thumbnail' pictures at the bottom of your posting. If a user clicks on the thumbnail they will see the full sized picture.

If you are happy with your posting and the 'thumbnails', you may want to stop here!

However, it is possible to insert your pictures in to the text and format them (change size, align left, align right, flow the text around the pictures, etc). If you want to do this then follow these steps.

  1. Go to your posting and select the small 'Edit' button at the top. You will see your posting in 'Edit' mode with a list of the pictures you have used under the heading 'Uploaded files:'
  2. Point to the file name of the picture you want to insert in to your text and click the right button of the mouse. (Apple users - your'e on your own here!). A list of options appears. Point to 'Copy link address' and click the  left button of the mouse.
  3. Point and click on the place where you want the picture to appear in your text.
  4. Find the 'Insert/edit image' button in the grey bar at the top of the edit window. It's usually the very right hand one and is supposed to look like a small picture of a mountain in a frame. Point to it and click the left button of the mouse. A box should appear.
  5. Point to the space alongside 'Source', click the right button of the mouse and select 'Paste' from the list.
  6. You can change the size of the picture or give it a description here, but you can do it later.
  7. Click 'OK'. The picture will be inserted in to the posting.

At this stage the picture will be in the text of the posting and at the bottom of the posting as a thumbnail. If you don't want the thumbnail, use the [Delete] option alongside the file name. It will not delete the image in the text.

You can make further edits to the picture in the text by clicking on it and using the edit options that appear.
